คนสมัยก่อนนิยมนำสมุนไพรที่มีอยู่ตามพื้นบ้านมาใช้เป็นเครื่องประทินผิว
ซึ่งมีอยู่ตามธรรมชาติและหาได้ไม่ยากนำมาปรุงใช้เองโดยไม่มีกระบวนการ
อันยุ่งยาก ตามแบบฉบับภูมิปัญญาพื้นบ้าน และด้วยในปัจจุบันกระแสสมุนไพร
ได้รับความนิยมอย่างมาก มีวิวัฒนาการมากมาย เทคโนโลยีล้ำสมัยเข้ามาเกี่ยวข้อง
การนำสมุนไพรหลากหลายชนิดมาใช้ถือเป็นภูมิปัญญาที่น่ามหัศจรรย์และยัง
ช่วยฟื้นฟูสิ่งเเวดล้อม ส่งเสริมอาชีพ สร้างรายได้ ช่วยกันขยายพันธุ์พืชสมุนไพรต่าง ๆ
และเป็นอีกหนึ่งที่สามารถดึงดูดนักท่องเที่ยวต่างชาติเข้ามาในเมืองไทยเพื่อซึมซับ
อารยธรรมของชาติไทยที่ไม่มีชนชาติใดเสมอเหมือนได้การแปรภูมิปัญญาและทรัพย์
ของแผ่นดินเป็นทุน จะช่วยให้อนาคตของสมุนไพรไทยรวมทั้งการท่องเที่ยว
เกษตรกรไทย การจ้างงานต่างๆได้หมุนเวียน ช่วยให้เราคนไทยที่มีต้นทุนทาง
ภูมิปัญญาอย่างอุดมสมบูรณ์
วิสาหกิจชุมชนสายบัว ซึ่งตั้งอยู่ที่ 8/8 ซอยรามอินทรา 76 เเขวง
เเละเขตคันนายาว กทม. ได้ถูกก่อตั้งโดยนางกัญญาลักษณ์ ตระกูลชีวพานิตต์
หรือที่ชุมชนเรียกกันติดปากว่า "ผู้ใหญ่หวาน" ในปีพ.ศ. 2540 เนื่องจาก
ในปีนั้นเป็นช่วงวิกฤตเศรษฐกิจตกต่ำอย่างรุนเเรง ทำให้คนในชุมชนประสบสภาวะ
ว่างงานเเละตกงานเป็นจำนวนมาก ด้วยวิสัยทัศน์ความเป็นผู้นำที่ต้องการให้ชุมชน
สามารถยืนหยัดสู้ภาวะเศรษฐกิจที่ตกต่ำให้ได้ จึงคิดก่อตั้งกลุ่มอาชีพสายบัวเพื่อ
ให้คนในชุมชนมีอาชีพเเละสามารถสร้างรายได้ได้อย่างยั่งยืน ด้วยความตั้งใจที่ต้องการ
ให้สินค้านั้นมีการนำภูมิปัญญาท้องถิ่นมาต่อยอดขยายผลด้วยสรรพคุณของสมุนไพรไทย
เเปลงไปเเต่ยังคงคุณค่าของสมุนไพรไทยเป็นการสืบสานภูมิปัญญาไทยของเเผ่นดินบ้านเกิดให้
คงอยู่สืบต่อไป
นอกจากนี้วิสาหกิจชุมชนสายบัวยังดำเนินธุรกิจตามเเนวปรัชญา เศรษฐกิจพอเพียง ของ
พระบาทสมเด็จพระเจ้าอยู่หัวมาใส่เกล้าปฏิบัติตนในกลุ่มฯ ซึ่งเป็นเเนวทางเเห่งความพอเพียง
ขจัดความยากจน สามารถอยู่ภายใต้สภาวะการณ์ที่เปลี่ยนเเปลงไปได้อย่างยั่งยืน เเละ
เป็นสังคมที่มีไมตรีจิตต่อกัน รู้จักสามัคคี ไม่เบียดเบียนเเละทำร้ายกัน อนุรักษ์เเละ
เพิ่มพูนทรัพยากรธรรมชาติที่มีอยู่ในท้องถิ่นอย่างรู้คุณค่าเเละยั่งยืน ดังนั้นราคาของสินค้า
ภายใต้ตรา สายบัว จึงเป็นสินค้าราคายุติธรรม สร้างสรรคุณภาพที่ดีด้วยภูมิปัญญาท้องถิ่น
เพื่อคนไทยเเละสังคมไทยที่ยั่งยืน

People in the past utilized local herbs to make cosmetics. They employed folk knowledge to make many kinds of cosmetics in a simple way. Back to the present, herbs become popular employing modern technology which creates many herbal products. The benefits of using herbs are many including being environmental friendly, promoting vocational training, promoting herbs propagation, and attracting foreign tourists.
Applying folk knowledge and using local plants help Thai farmers, Thai tourism and Thai herbs. It also promotes local employment while preserving local intellectual capital for future generations.
During the time of financial meltdown in 1997, Sai Bua Community Enterprise was established at 18 Soi Ramindra 76 Kannayoa District Bangkok by Mrs. Kanyaluck Trakoolshewanitt (Mrs.Wan), the village headperson. She gathered unemployed villagers and established local community enterprise. The enterprise utilizes folk knowledge to develop several herbal products including shampoos, conditioners, shower gels, luffa soap bars, Instant Sweet Rice Noodles and Instant Thai Noodles. All the products employ modern packaging to make it convenient to use, but still preserve the merits of herbs.
Sai Bua Community Enterprise adopts His Majesty the King's sufficiency economy philosophy to run the enterprise. The community aims to reduce poverty and build self-sufficient community while fostering community spirit and cooperation. Moreover, the community believes in sustainable development and tries to protect and maintain the local environment in its pristine condition.
The prices of all herbal products are reasonable while maintaining the merit of herbs and production standard. The community is proud in helping preserving Thai herbs and folk knowledge that can bring sustainable benefits to the community members.
